RIP: Diva of the South...Dixie Carter

Skittles may have the Golden Girls, but I have Designing Women and those Southern Divas taught me how to be the wisecracking lady I am. But I am so depressed that the head Diva, Miss Sugarbaker herself, Dixie Carter died today at the age of 70 from cancer. I will always remember that Southern fried wit that will read you in a heartbeat and soothe your bruised feelings like some sweet ice tea. Read more!

Not like we give a flying shit ball about the deletion of a twitter account, especially Miley's. but this is just for the ones who are so heartbroken and need to know why she decided to let that fuckery go! RIP: Worman's Bakery & Deli

A Jacksonville icon since 1938, Worman's will be no more on August 8. The owners say that they can't wait anymore for the new courthouse to be built next door. I have never eaten there before, but heard countless people rave about this place, especially my mom. I sometimes pass it and cars will be wrapped around the corner and made me want to see what I was missing. Check out the full story here at the FTU. But what I don't understand is why now? I know the courthouse has taken a decade to start, but they were making money and dealing with it. But now that they are actually building it and it will be finished in a year or two, now they want to close?! Maybe it's stunts and shows, cause they planned to close years ago and their customer's stopped them. Maybe they just need some love. Me and Skittles will have to hit it up just in case. Read more!

RIP: E. Lynn Harris

This is getting too much. Pioneering black gay author E. Lynn Harris died at the age of 54 from unknown reason as of yet. My and Skittles were about to start reading his books. I was introduced to his work off handedly through my mother. She would read all his books and I was hooked on the hot covers and after reading summaries, opened my eyes to black gay love. Jazz great and Jacksonville cultural icon, Teddy Washington died from a blood clot at Shands Jacksonville today. He was 78 and worked with such greats as James Brown, Ray Charlies, and one of the creators of the Jacksonville Jazz Festival. Michael Jackson Memorial Update!

Even though the full details are not known, the lineup has been partially revealed such as Mariah Carey (Diva Hotness), Jenifer Hudson (Double Hotness, and Usher (Of course) to name a few. Also if you don't have a ticket, trust the LAPD will be on that ass like Rodney King if you are near the Arena. I understand the reason for the tight security, but the LAPD also needs understand that this will be the biggest event outside the second coming of Jesus and I know there will be crowds that are going to show up anyway. I just happened to hear this song yesterday, and like all of his songs, they hit me to my heart but this one hit me a little bit deeper to my soul and I had to find a video to share with you. R.I.P : Michael Jackson, Farrah Fawcett, Ed McMahon

August 29, 1958 – June 25, 2009

I just got home and was saddened to hear the news of Michael Jackson passing away today. I knew he was in bad shape but I would have never thought it would come to this, not yet, not now! He died of cardiac arrest, he was 50 years old. His legacy will always live on and he will be forever missed.
This song is for you by you, rightfully so. It gets me every time. Rest In Peace.

February 2, 1947 – June 25, 2009
Farrah Fawcett lost her 4 year battle today with cancer. Our "Charlie's Angel" will be missed. She was 62.

March 6, 1923 – June 23, 2009
Comedian, Announcer man, and Spokesman, and best known as the TV Host of Star Search. He died of complications due to pneumonia, bone cancer, and other medical problems. He was 86.

Bea Arthur Dies at 86

I can't believe it! First Estelle and now Bea! Our "Dorothy Zbornak" of the best show ever (Golden Girls) lost her battle with cancer yesterday in her Los Angeles home with family and friends. I am about to watch this video below of the last episode and eat this piece of cheesecake in her honor (even though she actually hated the stuff so much, she would spit it out between takes). She will be forever missed.

The Diva that Beyonce and all the other Catwomen (Julie who?) wants to be died of colon cancer this Christmas at 81. She is the Queen of Fierocia and she had a fight and fire that is yet to be matched! Here's to you Miss Kitt, you will be missed and you will live in the momeries of fans around the world (as well as drag performances everywhere)!

I learned the tragic news that my favorite author of all time has died yesterday at 66. I have read every Michael Crichton book and each one is like going to college on a roller coaster. Not only does his books scare, suspense, amaze, and satisfy; they also educate you on the subject and leaves you feeling you just got a Ph.d. He will be missed! Heavenly Fierocia: Issac Hayes!

We lost another great entertainer Sunday, Issac Hayes! Even though I kind of thought he was wrong in the South Park religion battle, my respect and love for him is still great. The man who sung the baddest theme song ever and had the voice that would melt stone on the north pole! People says things happen in threes and I pray that this won't be the case, cause we can't lose any more greats in times like this, especially without replacements in the wings.

Heavenly Fierocia: Bernie Mac!

Not only a King of Comedy, but also the King of the Side Eye! Bernie Mac died from complications from pneumonia and a lung condition he was suffering from earlier. Bernie Mac was that uncle ever black family had, that was loud, wild, didn't give a fuck, but was also fun, caring, and always there for you. We will miss you here on earth, but at least its good to know that after all crap we deal with here on earth, that we will have a laugh when we reach heaven!
